Hydrocolon therapy
Hydrocolon therapy, also called colon hydrotherapy, gently rinses the large bowel with warm, filtered water. The evidence for routine use is limited. At Mitogenez it is offered only after a physician has screened you, for specific goals, and always as one small part of a doctor-led plan.

The idea
Your liver and kidneys already clear waste from your body. Hydrocolon therapy does not "detox" you, and we do not claim it does. What it does is mechanical: it washes out the contents of the lower bowel. For some people, such as those with stubborn constipation or before certain procedures, a doctor may decide that this is useful. Claims that it resets the microbiome or removes toxins are not supported by good evidence.
How it works
A doctor checks your history and current health to make sure the procedure is safe and suitable for your goal.
Through single-use sterile tubing, warm filtered water flows gently into the lower bowel and back out, in a closed system.
Your doctor checks how you felt and whether it helped with the goal it was offered for.

Questions
No. Your liver and kidneys do that job, and there is no good evidence that colon hydrotherapy removes toxins from the body. It simply rinses out the lower bowel. We offer it only for specific goals, after screening.
Problems such as electrolyte imbalance or bowel injury are rare, and are more likely when people are not screened or practitioners are not trained. Every person is screened by a physician first, and we decline the session if it is not safe for you. Tubing is single-use and sterile.
It can disturb the bacteria in your bowel for a short time. This is one reason we do not offer it as a routine cleanse. Your doctor may suggest diet changes or other support afterwards, depending on your situation.
You change into a gown and lie comfortably. A small, sterile tube is gently inserted, and warm water flows in and out through a closed, odour-free system. A trained practitioner stays with you, and you can pause or stop at any time. It usually takes 30 to 45 minutes.
Usually very few, and often just one, if it is offered at all. We do not sell routine packages. Your doctor decides based on your goal and reviews how you got on before suggesting another.
